High molecular weight polymer that is osmotically active but not absorbed, retaining water in the intestinal lumen and softening stool.
Side effects & warnings
Safe for chronic constipation. May cause bloating and flatulence initially. Ensure adequate hydration. Well tolerated in cats and dogs.
