Eloxatin
Third-generation platinum compound that forms inter- and intra-strand DNA cross-links, inhibiting DNA replication and transcription. Different spectrum than cisplatin/carboplatin.
Peripheral neuropathy (cumulative and acute cold-triggered). Less nephrotoxic and emetogenic than cisplatin. Myelosuppression moderate. Used investigationally for colorectal and hepatic tumors in dogs.
