Taxotere
Semi-synthetic taxane that promotes tubulin assembly and inhibits microtubule depolymerization. More potent than paclitaxel in vitro. Arrests cells in M phase.
Less hypersensitivity risk than paclitaxel (polysorbate 80 vehicle). Myelosuppression and peripheral neuropathy. Fluid retention with cumulative dosing. Premedicate with dexamethasone.
