Non-selective beta-adrenergic antagonist that reduces aqueous humor production by the ciliary body, lowering IOP.
Systemic absorption occurs — avoid in patients with bradycardia, heart block, or asthma. Often combined with dorzolamide for enhanced IOP reduction. Apply q12h. Monitor heart rate.
