Mechanism of Action
Non-selective beta-adrenergic antagonist that reduces aqueous humor production by blocking beta-2 receptors in the ciliary epithelium.
Side effects & warnings
Similar to timolol but less commonly used. Systemic absorption may cause bradycardia, bronchospasm. Avoid in brachycephalic breeds prone to respiratory issues. Adjunct therapy for glaucoma.
