Mechanism of Action
Aminoglycoside binding 30S ribosomal subunit. Bactericidal concentration-dependent. Excellent gram-negative coverage including Pseudomonas.
Side effects & warnings
Corneal epithelial toxicity with prolonged use (>7-10 days). Good for gram-negative ocular infections. Can be used with corneal ulcers. Resistance increasing.
