Reduces intercellular cohesion of corneocytes by dissolving intercellular cement. Lowers skin pH, promoting desquamation and thinning of the stratum corneum.
Salicylate toxicity risk with extensive application, especially in cats. Drying and irritating at higher concentrations. Avoid on open wounds.
