Mechanism of Action

Inhibits transglycosylation step of cell wall synthesis by binding lipid II intermediate. Non-absorbed — acts locally in GI tract.

Side effects & warnings

Oral use for C. difficile-associated diarrhea. Not systemically absorbed. GI upset possible. Investigational — limited data.
