Pamelor
Active metabolite of amitriptyline. Inhibits norepinephrine reuptake preferentially over serotonin. Anticholinergic, antihistaminic, and alpha-adrenergic blocking properties.
Cardiac toxicity risk — monitor ECG in susceptible species. Anticholinergic effects: dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation. Do not combine with MAOIs.
