Selectively inhibits presynaptic norepinephrine transporter, increasing noradrenergic tone in the prefrontal cortex without significant dopaminergic effects in the nucleus accumbens.
May cause decreased appetite, GI upset, and urinary retention. Monitor liver enzymes. Not a controlled substance unlike methylphenidate.
