Mechanism of Action

Guanylate cyclase-C agonist that increases cyclic GMP, stimulating intestinal chloride and bicarbonate secretion, accelerating transit and reducing visceral pain.

Side effects & warnings

Diarrhea is most common side effect. Not absorbed systemically. Minimal veterinary data — experimental use only.
