Mechanism of Action

Thermoreversible poloxamer gel that is liquid at cold temperatures and gels at body temperature. Used as vehicle for transdermal drug delivery of various active ingredients.

Side effects & warnings

Compounding vehicle, not active drug. Systemic bioavailability of drugs in PLO gel is variable and often unpublished. Not all drugs are suitable for transdermal delivery. Ear pinna application common in cats.
