Mechanism of Action
Long-acting ergot-derived dopamine D2 receptor agonist that inhibits prolactin secretion from the anterior pituitary, terminating pseudopregnancy and suppressing lactation.
Side effects & warnings
Vomiting common at initiation. Administer with food. More specific and better tolerated than bromocriptine. Licensed veterinary formulation.
